Sweet Sunday

Happy Sunday all! Roger and I got out of the house today for a mini-adventure around downtown St. Pete. I slapped on some sunscreen, concealer, and put my hair up in a bun. It’s hot as heck outside but I desperately needed some vitamin D. We stopped at Swah-rey for the first time to fulfill the cupcake craving I was having. I got a Red Velvet mini with coffee. You can also get WINE with your mini cupcake, what a cute concept! Roger got the Chocolate Salted Caramel Cake, which was totally appropriate for sharing.

We headed to Northshore Park to walk off the carbs and sugar. It’s always nice to be around people who are running, biking, out with their families, and playing Pokemon (lol!). Roger and I are really appreciating spending quality time together. We are also eager to go to the places we have been meaning to visit in St. Pete because… LIFE UPDATE: We finally found a house! Our soon to be first home. More on this soon 🙂

Best Brunch in Downtown St. Pete

This brunch is not for the faint at heart. The Mill in downtown St. Pete, FL has one of the best menus in the area, I couldn’t wait to try their brunch. Not only is their food delicious, their portion sizes are enough to share :). You can tell the chef puts his heart into the food. I was excited to learn they recently updated the brunch menu.

This is their Biscuits & Gravy. The biscuits are buried under all that gravy I promise!

The “You’re Still Up? Burger” was amazing with all of my favorite things… prime rib, egg, bacon, pickles!

Treasure Island & Good Eats

I live 15 minutes away from the beach and often take it for granted. This weekend brought in the perfect weather for a trip to the beach. Roger and I headed to Treasure Island. I got to catch up on some reading while enjoying the breeze and the Florida sun.

Here are some places we stopped on the way. We stopped for coffee at Craft Kale and picked up their Kyoto drip coffee. Craft Kale is known for their healthy options and baked goods. I will have to return to try some of their dishes.

Before heading home we stopped by one of our favorite places to get a Cuban Sandwich, The Floridian. This place is nostalgic for Roger and I. We used to come here a lot when he came back home from the military!

The Best Grouper Sandwich and Supporting Maximo Seafood Shack

Word on the street Maximo Seafood Shack has the best grouper sandwich in St. Petersburg.  Unfortunately, big money has threatened to push out this local business. We came to show support and loved the waterside view, food, and our witty waitress.

Here is the link for the petition to save Maximos. We need local businesses like this to stay alive, especially those with good food!

Meet My Sister, Tampa Riverwalk, and Ulele

Happy National Sibling Day! Meet Jenny!

Perfect timing as it was also my not-so-little sister’s 26th birthday weekend. She’s a soon to be Electrical Engineer and graduating with her Masters degree at the end of the month! Somewhere along the way she caught up to my height and then surpassed me. Doesn’t she rock the pixie cut too?! Anyway, Happy Birthday sis. I know this year will be your best one yet!

We celebrated with a family outing and walked Tampa’s Riverwalk. We wanted to take advantage of Florida’s perfect breezy 70 degree weather lately.

We headed to Ulele for dinner, a Native-Inspired restaurant. It’s a huge restaurant on the end of the Riverwalk. I highly recommend making reservations during the busy weekend.
