Denver Eats & First Time Skiing @ Copper Mountain

Roger and I were not anticipating that our trip to Denver would be about overcoming a fear. We headed to Copper Mountain for our first time skiing, put on our gear, and jumped on the lift with no prior experience or lessons. It can’t be that hard right? Our friends gave us some tips and pointers during our days of planning for this trip. Plus, there were what seemed like 2 year olds going down these so called “bunny slopes” no problem. Ok maybe not 2 years old, maybe 2 feet tall.

Needless to say, we both fell flat on our faces. Roger more times than he’d like to admit. I, on the other hand, had a panic attack after my fall and trying to get one of my skis back on. There was no other way than down, so we picked ourselves up and got through it. I did not let us give us after our first run. We headed to the bar, took a shot of something that I can’t recall at the moment. But most importantly, liquid courage got us back up the slopes a second and even a third time. By that time, we enjoyed ourselves and laughed about the whole ordeal while full on “pizza” skiing down the sloes.

Would we go skiing again? ABSOLUTELY! We’ll be sure to head to the bar first.

And now the gluttony! Here are some of the places we stopped to eat while in Colorado.

Did somebody say shishito peppers and fries? First Draft is a pour-it-yourself craft beer sampling concept. The small plates were amazing. We tried ALL 3 flavors of the fries.

Mile High City Hikes – Denver, Colorado

It was time for a much needed change of scenery. Roger and I visited friends in the Mile High City and hiking was at the top of our list. It was the best way to take in the gorgeous views of Colorado.

Let me tell you, our Floridian selves were not used to hiking up such mountainous terrains. It was definitely a challenge. I was so happy to see so many people out being active and just enjoying the beautiful weather.
