Pictured above is us before the flu. For my 28th birthday weekend we flew to NYC to explore the city for the first time. I was in bed almost the whole first day with a fever. Thankfully, I felt a little better the next day (thank goodness for the flu vaccine) and we made the best of our trip as much as we could. Roger caught it from me on the way back home and was out for an entire week.
It was still nice to get away and celebrate my birthday. I have a feeling we will be back soon to explore more! Stay tuned until the end of the post for something exciting!
We stayed in the Upper West Side and a very close walk to Central Park. I was surprised to see so many families and wondered about the kind of lives they live in such a busy city.
The 9/11 Memorial and the new One World Trade Center
I could not tolerate the cold long or walk very far but we made it to the 9/11 Memorial. The city did a great job in creating such a place to remember the ones lost.
Battery Park for a view of The Statue of Liberty is just a short walk away.
On December 1, 2016 we found out we are going to be parents! We are expecting our first child in July 2017 and could not be more excited. This moment is something I prayed about and in God’s timing it is here!
